During the month of June, NFM Lending held our third annual food drive. NFM Lending’s corporate location and branches throughout the U.S. collected nearly 350 pounds of non-perishable food items and other necessities for local area food banks.
Founded in 1979, the Maryland Food Bank serves food insecure individuals and families throughout Maryland. According to the Maryland Food Bank website, “food insecurity” refers to “the inability to consistently access food.” In the Maryland Food Bank service area, nearly 1 in 8 adults and 1 in 5 children experience hunger. Through food drives, fundraising, and network partnerships, the organization is able to distribute more than 100,000 meals per day to Marylanders in need.
For the past three years, NFM Lending has held this food drive in order to help local families in need. NFM Lending is active in local communities, participating in fundraising events for such charities as the Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore, Habitat for Humanity, and more.
