When David Silverman first started NFM Lending in 1998, he decided one of the main priorities of the Company would be focusing on community service. The NFM C.A.R.E.S. program aims to support causes that have the greatest impact on the communities that NFM Lending serves. NFM Lending’s charitable endeavors are typically geared towards helping United States troops and Veterans, children and families in need, and animal welfare and protection.
In the many years we have been operating, NFM Lending has been involved with over 25 charitable organizations, including Ronald McDonald House Charities of Baltimore, Habitat for Humanity, St. Judes, the SPCA, and AnySoldier. In addition, NFM’s employees dedicate their time and efforts to volunteer at many of the these charitable organizations, along with charities they are personally connected to.
Supporting Our Troops
NFM Lending has an annual troop Support Our Troops drive where employees collect food, supplies, toiletries, leisure activities, and more, to send to the US troops stationed in the Middle East. The names and addresses for the troops are provided by the AnySoldier organization. NFM Lending also partnered with Ruckpack to ensure the troop boxes were supplied with energy drinks to help soldiers receive the energy and nutritional supplements they need during combat. In the last 9 years, NFM Lending has sent over 800 boxes to soldiers to remind them that there are people back home who support them.
NFM Salute Initiative
At NFM Lending, we believe that the brave men and women who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom and our country deserve to be spotlighted, during their service and once their service has ended. In 2016, NFM Lending started the NFM Salute program. This program was designed to recognize and give back to the men and women who have served in the United States military.
The NFM Salute Committee chooses one military member or Veteran each month to honor as their “Salute of the Month.” The NFM Salute of the Month in then featured in the NFM Salute website with a brief biography with information about his or her service, receive a thank you gift, and have a $2,500 donation made in their name to one of four selected Veteran/soldier charities. The charities are Soldier’s Wish, Platoon 22, AnySoldier, and the Gary Sinise Foundation. To learn more or to nominate someone, please visit www.nfmsalute.com.
